The Imperium Saga began as a fantasy world to "play around" in while I refined my writing style. It quickly mushroomed into an entire world full of depth, development, history, and more. I quickly found myself so swept up in the world and the characters that the original idea I was trying to refine my style for was little more than a distant memory. This only escalated as I began seeing the sheer excitement and joy my writing brought to my readers. Here is an overview of the upcoming series I'm working on in the world of the Imperium Saga.
The Warlord Trilogy: The trilogy is already written and the first two books of which I have done the pre-editing proofread. In the original trilogy (Fall of the Imperium), readers are introduced to Warlord Braksis, a larger than life character who inspires those who fight with him, and put dread into the hearts of those he faces. But is a hero born, or the culmination of their experiences in life? The Warlord Trilogy shows Braksis as he becomes the hero he is. Beginning as a newborn baby in the Troll Wars with the emphasis on his father and allies, but ultimately leading to his upbringing, development, failures, and triumphs. The Warlord Trilogy has the same epic feel as the Fall of the Imperium trilogy that my readers have come to expect, but also delves more directly into the characters to really show growth and development.
After the Fall and The New Mage Order: What happens after the events of The Siege of Zoldex? I was originally planning a Quintet and a second young adult series featuring Kyria as she enters the next stage of her life. But there were some storylines and characters I wanted to bring out that likely never would have been featured in a series that emphasizes the key events in the war against Zoldex. The first two books of After the Fall have been written, and I have begun the third. So far, readers will be getting the answers they have been looking for, while enjoying continued adventures in the rebellion against Zoldex. The New Mage Order will be a feature on Mages and their adventures specifically. It begins with Kyria and friends, but will expand to include other Mages, such as the Council of Elders survivors. I have the first few books plotted out, but have not begun writing the series yet.
Ilfanti (Title TBD): When I wrote Ilfanti and the Orb of Prophecy, it was intended to be a solo-shot. But Ilfanti is too enjoyable to not explore further. His next adventure will take place right after The Siege of Zoldex where Ilfanti, Braksis, Solara, Thamar, Centain, and other heroes go to rescue the kidnapped Empress, a mission that is far easier conceived than completed. The book has not yet been written.
