Even though I wrote Gen-Ops over five years ago, this entire series could be considered a "Future Project" since it hasn't come out. There has never been a book I have been so excited about. When I first began working on the Imperium Saga, I had never read Fantasy books. With Gen-Ops though, I blended themes that I have always enjoyed, such as Science Fiction, the military, and espionage. By blending the three, I am quite passionate about the series and all that it could be.
The series though largely has been on hold. There were other books I had to write, and after finishing the first Gen-Ops book, I knew I wanted to write more. Once I began doing so, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to stop. Since at the time fans were waiting for more Imperium Saga novels, I tabled Gen-Ops. But now, at long last, Gen-Ops is ready to come out, and I'm ready to dive back into a futuristic world of black ops, espionage, conspiracy, and genetic enhancements.
Gen-Ops: The first book is written. I still need to do a pre-editing proofread and get it to the editors, but with Joe Benitez already working on the cover art, the book is being bumped up to the top of the list for me to work on. I can't wait!
Gen-Ops Book 2 (Title TBD): In the first book I put in a few hooks. The first hook leads right into book 2. The second hook will come into play in book 3. But in addition to the plot hooks, Gen-Ops is about the depth of the characters and is extremely plot driven combined with adventure and excitement. With some more twists and turns it's sure to be a fun write, and an enjoyable read.
Gen-Ops Spin-Off (Title TBD): This is in the very early conceptual stages, but I have kicked the tires on some initial ideas for a Detective spin-off series. The Detective would be the daughter of the Gen-Ops Deputy Director, who believes her father is dead. When she comes across a murder that involves Gens, her father looks to give her help and make sure she survives the experience, asking one of his top agents who is on leave to help. The two together become a team in the new futuristic detective series.
